Minnesota Professional Development Council

Minnesota Professional Development Council:

Supporting Professionals who Educate, Advocate and Care for Children, Youth, and Families  

Mission

Facilitate development and ongoing coordination of an inclusive collaborative of the early childhood and youth professional development system in Minnesota.

Vision

All Minnesota Children in child care and education programs will be cared for by skilled and knowledgeable practitioners trained to work with young children and youth.

  • Individuals will understand and participate in a career professional development system, which reflects the core competencies, that improves skills, raises professionalism, and increases compensation.
  • The professional development system and all participating programs will be culturally competent, inclusive and responsive.
  • A state-wide system will document, approve and recognize the professional development of all early childhood and youth practitioners. 

Organizational Structure

The council will serve as an ongoing convener, facilitator and or partner with early childhood and youth professional development initiatives.


The Mn PD Council's Web site is available solely in English at the present time. However, several Internet sites offer free translation tools to users who wish to view our Web site in another language. The following sites provide translations from English to a number of other languages including: Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish.
